We know a lot about bed sheets. But we only learned recently that the ‘Zon is one of the best places to buy bedding. The best sheets on Amazon are an eclectic bunch, with fabrics ranging from classic cotton percale to the fuzziest flannels. And while Amazon shoppers have always been able to find affordable sheets on its online shelves, some of our favorite D2C sleep brands have gone Prime, too. Brooklinen now lists most of its sheets on Amazon, along with GQ faves like Sijo, Casper, and Buffy. We searched the retailer’s impossibly huge catalog to find the best sheet sets backed by Amazon's most enthusiastic (and well-rested) reviewers. All of these sheets are also Prime-able, meaning that your couch-surfing cousins have a place to crash for the millionth time, even if they didn't give you very much notice about their arrival.
As unwary shoppers sometimes learn the hard way, the e-tailer is filled with pages and pages of shoddy (sometimes straight-up shady) products. But thanks to the thousands of shoppers who have very strong takes on crispness and quality, we were able to weed out the good sheets from the absolutely dismal. We've surfaced some of the best-reviewed sets online, along with some of our personal favorites that we can vouch for first-hand. So read on to find all of the best sheets on Amazon that will get to you lickety-split and have you dozing off to sweet Slumbertown quicker than it takes to hit “add to cart.”
That bare mattress won't cover itself. Get straight to our picks so you can finally get a better night's sleep ASAP.
Amazon is notorious for stocking a lot of unvetted products from not-so-well-known brands sold via third-party sellers of dubious origin. While this makes it easy to get affordable dupes for things you might not want to splurge on, it's a different story when it comes to bed sheets, a product you spend hours with every day. As a rule of thumb, it's always worth investing in items that come into close contact with your body. Here's what you need to know when shopping for bed sheets on Amazon so you don't get duped by the dupes.
Materials: We already dove into common bed sheet materials in our big guide to bedding, but here's a briefer. Cotton, whether it's in a crisp percale or silky sateen weave, is great for affordability, comfort, and longevity. A lot of bed sheets on Amazon are cheap because they're made of super-affordable microfiber, a synthetic that's soft but not so great for hot sleepers and temperature regulation. If longevity is a priority, microfiber can also take a beating after too many runs in the washer. Linen is an overall excellent bedding material, and we love that thicker weaves can even be used in the cooler months. A seasonal material like flannel is ideal for staying cozy in the fall and winter. For the summertime, cooling sheets made from eucalyptus and bamboo, most commonly a fabric called tencel lyocell, will stop your sweat ducts before they get going.
Return Policy: Like anything you buy on Amazon, the item's return policy is always a need-to-know, especially when shopping with a new-to-you brand or seller. When buying furniture on Amazon—and that includes sleep products like bedding—return policies may differ from standard Prime benefits. Bed sheets that come with a warranty are even better, just in case something goes wrong with your new sheets, whether they fell apart in the wash or you managed to tear them on the corner of your metal bed frame.
Customer Reviews: Hyper-enthusiastic Amazon reviewers will be very happy to tell you about their purchase, so comb through the ratings on any bed sheet set you're considering to make sure other people haven't had problems with it in the past. And if they have, let their problems inform your decisions.
Because there are so many lesser-known brands trying to shill you stuff, we put together a who's who of the best bed sheets on Amazon. Culled from past GQ Home Awards, Amazon reviews, and our own hands-on testing, all of these sheets will pass the sleep test and come with Prime's very generous two-day shipping.
Material: Microfiber Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: Lifetime warranty
“Hotel sheets” and Amazon might feel like two separate entities entirely, but Mellani's luxury sheet set is one area where the two reasonably intersect. With over 300,000 reviews on Amazon to its credit (the majority being five-star ratings), this set is one of Amazon’s top-selling bedding offerings—and for very good reason. It's wildly soft, thanks to a brushed microfiber exterior that's also blessedly shrink-resistant in the wash, and a screaming deal for what you get: a full sheet set including pillowcases, a top sheet, plus a fitted sheet, all finished off with the same stylish stitched hem. It's especially a boon for people with plusher-than-average beds, as the sheets come with deep pockets so you won't have to tussle with it to fit it on your mattress. Best of all, Mellani's promise of quality sheets comes with a lifetime warranty if you're less than thrilled with how yours have held up over time. Yes, you essentially get these bed sheets guaranteed for life, fine print be damned.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “These are currently my favorite sheets. I recently bought [three] or [four] new sheets to find 'the one' and so far, these are the best. I usually sleep warm but I don't find myself soaked in sweat with these. I have pets who sleep with me and that means their hair is everywhere. With these sheets, I don't feel every single hair. It's frigging amazing. These sheets are extremely soft.”
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
If you're clueless on what kind of bed sheets you actually want, percale is usually a good place to start. Percale cotton has the benefit of being crisp, breezy, and cool to the touch (it's why actual hotel linens tend to use a percale weave), and a single spin cycle in the washer and dryer will render them even softer for your next snooze. Reviewers praise this percale sheet set from Linen Home for its excellent hand-feel, which comes at a very sensible 50 bones for a full set. The set may not have the longest shelf-life in the linen closet, and they probably won’t feel like a million bucks, but they will give you a better night’s sleep than the raggedy threads you've been holding onto since college.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I’m impressed. I ordered two sheets: this one from Amazon (cheap) and more expensive (like [times eight] expensive) from another site. I was quite pessimistic about what kind of quality they can deliver for 20-[something] dollars. But decided to try anyway. To my surprise both sheets are of the highest quality. I actually came back to order another size since the quality is comparable to the expensive Egyptian cotton sheets while it’s also affordable."
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: Lifetime warranty
Sateen sheets offer a certain luxurious feel thanks to their unique cotton weave, which is tighter and less airy than percale (so, better for cooler months), with a slickness to it that feels extra silky against the skin. Brooklinen's are some of our favorites of the genre for their handsome prints and quality, pill-resistant threads. Though the retailer does most of its business directly through its website, a selection of its bedding has made its way to Amazon. Don’t miss out on the Luxe bed sheets, which feel extra smooth and have a delicate sheen to them. The Brooklinen website offers a wider selection of prints and colors, but if you need the brand’s bedding ASAP, you can express ship them from Amazon.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I’ve always wanted great sheets at home; something that reminds me of a five-star hotel stay. These are them. I will never waste time and money on cheap sheets again. With these I bought happiness. I love going to bed. Also, I suggest getting extra standard pillowcases.”
Material: Linen Includes: Fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: 30 days Warranty: None
Sijo’s linen bed sheets are somewhat of an anomaly. That’s because they’re more wallet-friendly than you might expect from linen bed sheets, especially for a high-quality, flax linen set like this. Unlike the typical burlap-y feel of some linen fabrics, these sheets ship out stonewashed (meaning they've already undergone a breaking-in and pre-shrinking process before they even get to you) and are quite soft out of the box. They also come in a variety of colors, from pinstripes to neutrals. Though they're not the airiest linens we've ever tried—we'd recommend these for in-between seasons and winter, not for the depths of summer—the Oeko-Tex-certified fabric is hardy, handsome, wrinkle-resistant, and built-to-last year after year.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: "This has been my only set of sheets for about [five] months, washing weekly (I wash on warm, and dry on low or medium). They are PERFECT. No pilling, washes well, keeps me cool in the summer (I don’t have [AC] in my bedroom) and cozy in the winter. As long as I put them on the bed right when they come out of the dryer there is very minimal/gentle wrinkling which I think gives a cozier vibe. 100% recommend and plan to buy a second set this year.”
Material: Linen and cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
OK, so if Sijo's linen sheets are still a little too out of your price range, but you're still jonesing for some airy threads to sleep under, this well-reviewed linen sheet set from Simple & Opulence will still scratch that luxury itch. And if over 1,300 reviewers are to be believed, then this is an excellent budget linen sheet set. For the record, these are not fully linen—it's actually a blend of linen and cotton, which keeps the price low, but that shouldn't deter you from scooping one.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I wanted some sheets made from natural fibers and pure linen is so pricey. These give a similar look and feel of linen but aren't as wrinkly or expensive. They feel great against the skin and wash well. I've washed and dried them twice so far according to the tag's directions (gentle cycle) and they held up well. If they continue to hold up well, I definitely want to buy more!”
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
Take what you know about Eddie Bauer flannels, and apply that to a set of bed sheets: You're looking at something that’s ultra soft and cozy for single-digit winter nights, plus decked out in a plaid colorway befitting of your grungiest layers. This set comes triple-brushed for extra softness, so it will be even harder to peel yourself out of bed during Daylight Savings Time, and doesn't pill too horribly in and out of the washing machine. The only real drawback is that this set comes in queen and king sizes exclusively, but the brand does sell other patterns in fuller ranges. And did we mention that these patterns are reeeeeeal cute?
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “Perfect flannel sheets. I spent way too much time online reading negative reviews about thin flannels, stiff fabrics, pilling flannels, etc…I feel like I hit the jackpot with these Eddie Bauer flannel sheets, because these sheets are absolutely wonderful. They're so soft, and they wash-up perfectly. They are not thin, or cheap.”
Material: Organic cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
Earlier we told you that material quality should be a big factor when buying bedding on Amazon, and superior materials set these organic cotton sheets apart from your average sheets. To make these soft sheets and pillowcases, Boll & Branch uses long-staple cotton stitches, which will provide outstanding longevity even after dozens of wash cycles. Although these sheets don't come in colors other than white, they have a soft sheen to match their soft-as-butter feel. Finally, because the fitted sheet has a deep 17" pocket, it should slip easily over extra-tall hybrid mattresses.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: Although these sheets have a five-star rating, they have not yet collected any Amazon reviews.
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: 1-year warranty
Your favorite comfy t-shirt has nothing on these jersey sheets from Amazon Basics, which fall squarely in the sub-$50 range. For a dorm room twin XL or a rarely used guest bed, they're just the right price point, and reviewers seem happy with the quality of the fabric, too. These sheets are a solid combination of lightweight and breathable, boasting a lived-in softness that doesn't easily pill after repeat usage. Plus, they come in a number of solids if you'd prefer to mix it up with a chambray or dark green.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: "Very happy with these sheets. They wash/dry well, and are soft and comfortable. I usually use flannel sheets in the fall and winter. I bought these sheets for spring and summer. But, they could be used in cool weather too as they definitely add some warmth. I will be buying another set of these in a different color."
Premium Eucalyptus Lyocell Tencel Sheet Set
Material: Eucalyptus lyocell Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
Sijo's cooling eucalyptus bed sheets have impressed GQ staffers so much so that they earned a spot in the GQ Sleep Awards 2023, as well as our guide to the best sheets. The sheets' cooling powers come from the tencel lyocell fabric, which is made from eucalyptus fiber. You don't need to understand the manufacturing process to appreciate that lyocell is one of the softest fabrics known to the human race. Lyocell is naturally cooling, moisture-wicking, airy, and soft to the touch. It's so soft, it even out-silks silk.
Even though this sheet set has a higher price tag than most other sheets on Amazon, Sijo has earned its high-end status by crafting cooling sheets that really work. Sijo's premium bedding is also Oeko-Tex Standard 100 certified to be free of harmful chemicals and synthetic materials, and this set comes in 10 attractive colors. We should note that these sheets are so lightweight and soft that they can feel a little insubstantial, and they're only recommended for very hot sleepers.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I have been looking for sheets like these for ages. They are super soft, and have a gorgeous colour, mine are green. Most importantly (a self-proclaimed super sweaty gal) they stay dry all night. No more getting up in the night to change sheets, or to place a bath sheet towel onto the bottom sheet.”
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
Peru Pima is one of those brands you probably wouldn’t know about if it weren’t for Amazon's algorithm. It doesn’t have the same name recognition as Brooklinen or Parachute, say, but if you’re looking for excellent sheets from Amazon, it’s certainly one to know. Its temperature-regulating bed sheets utilize a sateen weave, which we found to be just shy of the buttery-soft feel we liked in the Brooklinen sheets. They’re designed to regulate body temperature (keeping you cool in the summer and cozy when the mercury drops), a feature that we found rung true to their branding in our testing. We also dig that these sheets are made from eco-friendly, Oeko-Tex-certified cotton as a feel-good bonus.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: "The thread count, durability of seams and the quality of pima cotton used is exceptional. You can immediately feel that the cotton used to produce these bedsheets are cultivated from cotton plants that were properly taken care of. The seams are straight, though it is hemmed on single-ply and not double. Fortunately, this has not affected the durability of the product. The cotton itself is strong enough to handle my dog constantly scratching at it so I know the quality is top-notch."
Bamboo Cooling Queen Sheet Set
Material: Viscose Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
In the same vein of temperature-regulating sheets, bamboo fabrics have the innate ability to stay silky and cool no matter how high the humidity climbs at night. It's why bamboo-made bed sheets are some of the best options for those who tend to wake up feeling like they just ran a marathon. Bedsure's cooling sheet set is made of bamboo viscose, which gives them a certain glide, and they're even moisture-wicking so you don't wake up drenched in sweat. Also, the fitted sheet fits snugly on even the loftiest mattresses (up to 16 inches), thanks to its deep pockets.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I LOVE these sheets! The 18-inch deep pockets fit our queen bed perfectly, and for the first time in forever, I can sleep cool at night! We got the seafoam green embroidered set, and I want to buy sets in blue, lilac, white, and every other cool color I can find."
Material: Microfiber Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: 1-year warranty
For the absolute budget shopper, Amazon's in-house line Amazon Basics is great for getting your feet wet. Nothing that we've tried from the line has been horribly off, and if you're not really a stickler on quality toppers for your pullout couch, this lightweight sheet set is a slam dunk for travelers who are passing through—or simply passing out. They even top Mellanni's as the retailer's best-reviewed bedding of all, which is maybe the price point (less than 20 bucks!), or the super-soft feel. Either way, you can't go wrong with this set of sheets.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I've been looking for new sheets for my queen-size bed and have been shocked by the prices that I've seen in the department stores. I was a little skeptical when ordering these sheets as the price seemed too good to be true, but the reviews were good. I am happy to say that these sheets are well made, soft to the touch, and wash up well! I am very happy with this purchase.”
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
If you're a stickler about fabrication, Lane Linen's extremely well-reviewed cotton sheets are certified organic by the Global Organic Textile Standards. At this price, you'd usually be stuck with some microfiber sheet set that feels about as natural as pleather, but for 100% cotton (which, again, are organic), these are hard to beat. Reviewers note that they're prone to wrinkles, but emerge from the dryer wonderfully soft and breathable. The sheets also feature a delicate seed-stitched hem to dial in that “fancy sheets” vibe.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “[Had these] sheets close to a couple of years. Great product that hasn't thinned out or bunched. I do cycle through a few sheets but nothing has caused concern for the product life or quality."
Material: Microfiber Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, four pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
With nearly two dozen color options to choose from (spanning lavender to burgundy to just plain white), CGK sheets are for those who want to switch things up a lot—and often. They're microfiber, hence the low price point, but repeat shoppers note that the fabric feels more like a soft hug than a cheap tarp, and looks expensive in a guest bedroom. A few people experienced ripping and seam-pulling after a few washes, but the vast majority seem to be very happy campers with how the sheets have held up over time.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “I love the light blue color. The sheets are soft and I haven't seen virtually any wrinkling when washed in cold water. They are easy to use since they fit very well with deep pockets. I can make up my queen size bed much faster.”
Cotton Sateen Queen Sheet Set
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
What is it about a hotel bed sheet that makes falling asleep so much easier and better? Maybe it's the industrial laundry detergent. But in all likelihood, it has something to do with the sheets, which tend to be built a lot like these sateen sets from Design Den. These 1,000-thread count sheets are part of the brand's “ultra luxury" line, while the regular “luxury” option features an 800 thread count. Like all sateen sheets, these are buttery soft, and while the material is already fairly insulating, i.e. not great for hot sleepers, these are thicker than average and therefore much cozier. Reviewers have said that these sheets have lived up after multiple washes and that they've retained their color, too. And with eight color options, you can find an option that goes with your interior design aesthetic.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “This set of sheets are fantastic! They are smooth and soft, beautiful color. The fitted sheet fits my really thick mattress amazingly. Deep pockets, and stay in place perfectly. And the best thing of all, there is a tag in both ends labeled top or bottom! No more turning and turning!”
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
Folks with loftier mattresses tend to struggle with fitted bed sheets—even the most forgiving of elastic bands can't always stretch to envelope a sky-high mattress stacked with cooling layers and extra pillow top plushness. With Threadmill's bedding there won't be an issue with those thicker mattresses because it can accommodate beds up to 16 inches tall. Not only are these bed sheets comfortable and cooling, as so many reviewers have noted, but they're also sustainably made and have earned an Oeko-Tex certification. You can cop these sheets in a range of colors, as well as a couple jacquard options for a little more flair.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “Theses sheets are the only sheets that fit my bed. They are specifically made for a 16-inch mattress. […] They fit nice and tight so they won’t sag and scrunch up when you sleep. I’ve had them since 2019 and they are still in great shape.”
Color Sense Hotel Percale Cotton Sheets
Material: Cotton Includes: Flat sheet, fitted sheet, two pillowcases Return policy: Free returns within 30 days Warranty: None
If you dig the look of a windowpane pattern or some stripes now and then, Nautica makes some pretty inoffensive cotton percale hotel sheets in various (23 in total!) different styles. Some of them are decidedly better-suited for a Cape Cod beach house vibe, but you can find plenty of handsome, not overly nautical designs in the mix, too. Reviewers note that these tend to wrinkle easily, but most agree they're perfect for guest rooms in particular. Like all of our picks, they're machine-washable and come with Prime shipping and returns, just in case the pattern doesn't look quite as smashing as it does on your computer screen.
What Amazon Reviewers Are Saying: “This is the third set of Nautica cotton percale sheets that I have purchased. The sheets are crisp but not irritating and soften after the initial washing. They do not wrinkle excessively. Most important to me is they are cool to sleep on in summer and are comfortable year around.”
