The spring 2023 League of Legends™ BIG EAST Championship bracket is set with a quartet of teams vying for a BIG EAST title and the automatic bid into the Riot College League of Legends Championships.
The full spring slate consisted of a best-of-three round-robin, with each team playing the other team once. After seven weeks, the top-four positions in the league standings were solidified on Saturday. This season, competitions are run by Battlefy and all regular-season results can be found HERE.
The opening season match on Jan. 28 proved to be the difference among the top-two seeds in the league, as St. John’s earned a hard-fought 2-1 win over DePaul before running the table to a perfect 6-0 regular season. Meanwhile, the Blue Demons capped the spring 5-1.
Rounding out the final two seeds in the championship, Butler, Connecticut, and Seton Hall each capped the spring 4-3, splitting head-to-head results. Seton Hall won the tiebreaker and earned the number three seed based on the fastest average win time followed by Butler, the fourth seed.
Entering the final weekend of regular season action a game back in the standings, Butler swept Villanova, while UConn and Seton Hall came up short against St. John’s and DePaul, respectively.
In regular season competition, St. John’s ShadowSneak01 led all gamers with 5.97 kills and assists over death ratio (KDA), while DePaul’s Kingamazin (5.91) and St. John’s Kafuu (5.71) followed closely behind.
As a team, DePaul led the league with a 4.37 KDA, while St. John’s (4.00) and Seton Hall (3.59) ranked second and third.
