PERRYVILLE — The No. 5 seed Magnet Cove Panthers had to overcome the home field advantage on the road in their Class 3A first round state football playoff match-up facing No. 2 seed Perryville Mustangs for their Week 11 postseason game. The Panthers provided a strong game of execution, but fell short and the Mustangs prevailed 34-7—ending Magnet Cove's season on the gridiron.

The Panthers finish the year plus .500 at 6-5 overall and 3-4 in conference. Despite a tough first round season ending defeat in the playoffs, the Panthers made some noise this season by kicking off the year to an astonishing 5-0 start and clinching a spot for the Class 3A state football playoffs for the second consecutive season under the direction of first year new head coach Dean Adams.

Magnet Cove also received votes for ranking in the state for 3A— claiming the No. 4 and No. 5 rankings throughout the season according to the Arkansas Sports Media High School Football Poll Rankings for 2023.
