As a travel and food writer, I spend a lot of time in airports. Sometimes my life feels a little bit like that old Billy Murray movie, Groundhog Day, since a few days a month, a very similar series of events will play out: I’ll hop in an Uber and arrive at the Delta terminal at LaGuardia Airport. While in the security line, I’ll make my mobile order for the nearby Starbucks (which is a great way to avoid those long lines), and then pick up that order en route to my gate.
It sounds like a perfectly seamless airport morning. While every mountain (or, airport trek, as it may be) seems a lot easier to climb after I have my go-to Iced Brown Sugar Oat Milk Shaken Espresso in hand, it’s always at this point that I always run into a conundrum: After picking up that coffee, I’ll have to proceed to a series of escalators. Then, I’ll remember that, caffeinated or not, I’m still a person with only two hands, trying to balance my luggage, laptop bag, my phone, and that fresh cup of coffee — all while trying to ride said escalator safely. Before the Riemot Luggage Travel Cup Holder, this was a recipe for disaster. Now, I can smoothly make my way through the airport without (almost) any messes or spills.
Whether I’m on the aforementioned airport trek or dragging my luggage around a city (because my schedule often involves going straight from the airport to a luncheon or meeting with no time to stop in between), the Riemot Luggage Travel Cup Holder makes it a lot easier to safely multitask. All you have to do is slip the holder over the handle of your suitcase and adjust the hook-and-loop bands around it. Once in place, it’ll fit two drinks — I tend to use mine for my coffee cup and water bottle, but it also has a reverse side pocket that can hold items such as a phone, itinerary, or passport. It keeps everything within reach while allowing you to move hands-free, ensuring that you have the ability to grab onto, say, an escalator arm or a pole on an airport shuttle train between terminals.
As someone who has tried the coffee-and-luggage balancing act many times in airports and ended up with stained clothes before I even got on my flight, the travel cup holder is a lifesaver. And, it's worth noting that the Riemot Luggage Travel Cup Holder is available for just $13 at Amazon.
Aside from being on sale and available in a bunch of fun colors and patterns (it was important to me that it match my favorite lightweight berry carry-on), this handy accessory has also earned a stamp of approval from several flight attendants. In fact, it's “great for [the] flight crew,” according to one Amazon reviewer, a flight attendant who bought it for their colleagues. After all, no one wants to be spilling their much-needed caffeine, whether it’s scalding hot coffee or my go-to iced espresso as they hustle to their gate — especially flight attendants, who spend more time in the airport than any of us and know the best hacks for a seamless commute. The reviewer continued, “No more spilling your Starbucks…or figuring out how to shoot a text while dragging your luggage to the gate.”
Another flight attendant chimed in to share that the Riemot Luggage Travel Cup Holder is a must-have for its secure-fitting and customizable design: “I had one before without the Velcro opening that just stretched over the handle and it was a pain. This one is great! There’s room for two large drinks and a slim pocket for a phone or wallet." They concluded their comment, adding, "Many people see it and ask where I got my clever little caddy.”
One of the annoying aspects of travel accessories, be it a travel pillow or water bottle, is that when you are done using them, you then need to find a spot to store them until the return trip. But this luggage travel cup holder can fold right up and be stashed away in your suitcase, where it'll take up hardly any space at all. And, if any random spillage does occur? Just toss it in the washing machine with your travel laundry when you get home and it’ll be ready for the next trip.
If only everything else could be this easy. Well, what are you waiting for? Get the flight attendant-approved Riemot Luggage Travel Cup Holder while it's on special sale for $10 at Amazon. And, keep scrolling for other versions that will also make your next trip a breeze.
At the time of publishing, the price started at $10.
