There are a few differences between Staub cocottes and Le Creuset Dutch ovens. Staubs have a black enamel interior, whereas the coating on Le Creusets is light in color. Le Creusets tend to encourage more evaporation than Staubs, which have tight-fitting lids that trap moisture inside. But both are well made and will last a lifetime.

Theres no getting around a sheet pan in the kitchen. At one point or another, the time will come when you need one or several of these things for any number of sweet or savory baking tasks. Nordic Ware makes our favorite sheet pans, which are sturdy, long-lasting, and wont easily warp in a hot oven. Just make sure to remember that the “standard” sheet pan—the one you can fit in a typical home oven—is a half sheet. Full sheet pans are absolutely massive, and mostly a thing for commercial bakers.

We typically don’t recommend buying a full cookware set from one brand. Cookware sets often include pans you won’t use that much, so we think you’re better off owning the best versions of the essentials: a cast-iron skillet, a nonstick skillet, a stainless steel skillet, an enameled cast-iron Dutch oven, and a stainless steel saucepan. But we love All-Clad’s cookware so much that we’d make an exception for them. If you like your cookware to match, or prefer cooking exclusively with stainless steel, this is a great deal to take advantage of.

It also has a dehydrate function that cooks at very low temperatures for long periods of time. And one small design feature makes the appliance easier to clean than its competitors: Instead of a basket, this air fryer features a “crisper plate” that allows for maximum air circulation. It’s easier to remove and scrub than a basket.

Since it cools the cream as it churns with an actual refrigerating mechanism, the texture of this ice cream is superior, and it will keep overnight without crystallizing. But all of that comes at a price, both financially and otherwise. This will need to live in the garage, or its own room, because the machine weighs 38 pounds. Each model is hand made in Italy and usually costs over $1,000. Right now it’s on sale for almost half price, so this is a seriously good deal on a seriously excellent machine, should you have the passion, space, and means.

Breville, quite simply, makes our favorite toaster ovens—or rather, combo air fryer–toaster ovens. If you didn't already know this, an air fryer is basically just a small convection oven, and a convection oven is basically just an oven with a fan in it. This one has an air-frying basket for all of your French fry needs, but can also function as a toaster, broiler, dehydrator, food reheater, keep warm-er and so on. Don't be surprised if you end up using it more than your full-size oven (seriously).
